What We Do

Care Homes

Both our ‘Mobile Farm’ and ‘Small Animals’ packages work well for care homes.  We can set up in your garden/communal area and allow residents to hold and stroke the animals that they wish to.  We use baskets for our small animals to sit in so that they can easily be held on the resident’s laps and petted.  We are also able to offer animals to those residents who are unable to leave their rooms by accompanying the animals to other areas of the care home. We bring plastic sheeting for the animals if we are setting up pens indoors but please be aware not all animals are house trained and therefore we warn you there could be mess!

Schools

Both our ‘Mobile Farm’ and ‘Small Animals’ packages are suited to school visits depending on the number of children and the purpose of the visit.  A ‘Small Animals’ visit provides an opportunity for smaller groups of children (a class at a time) to get up close and personal with the animals learning more about them and their behaviours.  These work well to support individual class topics.  A full day ‘Mobile Farm’ visit is ideal for a whole school booking, we usually recommend seeing 150 – 300 children per day, these bookings must include a 30–60-minute rest time for the animals.  These visits provide an opportunity for the children to learn more about the animals, life on the farm and where our food comes from.

We are also in a position to offer more regular visits to schools, this is particularly suited to SEN schools/departments. In our experience, pupils benefit from a weekly visit as this allows for a more varied animal attendance over the course of the visits. We tailor the visits to the needs of the children and love to see the changes in confidence and progression in communication made within the groups each week. Our sessions provide a safe space for the pupils to explore outside the classroom and enrich their learning during their time at the school. We are delighted to be a part of the therapy team at Silverwood school delivering sessions across two sites.

Fetes Open Days & Country Shows

Allow our incredible animals to delight the crowds and provide a unique opportunity to bring the farm to you!  We have experience in all varieties and sizes of events from your local village fete to a large scale show with attendances stretching into the tens of thousands. Our ‘Mobile Farm’ package is perfect for both small scale and large scale events as it is versatile and can be adapted to suit both the venue and the size of crowd.

We are able to tailor our package to manage a large volume of visitors and provide a hands on experience with both the animals and educational tools with opportunities for petting and feeding where possible.  For smaller events we will set up at the location of your choice and allow your visitors to stroke and interact with our animals in a more relaxed and informal style.

Parties, Hen Parties and Weddings

Parties are both unique and individual to each host and we aim to enhance your celebration with our animals.  Depending on venue size, number of guests and your requirements both our ‘Mobile Farm’ and ‘Small Animals’ packages can be a valued addition.  We offer both structured parties and a more informal approach to suit your needs.

Small Animal Visits (October – February)

We will attend your chosen venue with our small animal friends; rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and ducks (with the occasional special guest appearance from Nellie our cocker spaniel).  We can offer up to 4 sessions a day and timings can be flexible depending on necessary travel time.  Small animal visits can be conducted inside the venue with rabbits and guinea pigs handled in baskets and we see this as a very hands on package with plenty of petting of the animals. Please note this package is booked with one member of the team in attendance and is recommended for up to 30 people.

Seasonal Visits

Spring visits – As the seasons change and new life starts to appear allow us to bring the joy of our animals to you!  We will attend your chosen venue with rabbits, a donkey and a lamb, with these visits being conducted indoors, depending on the suitability of the venue.  This is a hands on package with lots of time for meeting, petting and learning about these wonderful animals.  Bring the excitement of spring to life.

Living Nativity – Bring your Christmas Event alive with our living nativity, allow us to delight the crowds with our donkey, pony, cow, and either sheep or goat.  We will attend your chosen venue with our nativity animals, manger and hay bales.  These sessions can be tailored to your needs depending on the size of event with the option for children’s fancy dress and up close interaction with the animals inside our ‘nativity scene’ available for private events.  Bring the magic of Christmas alive and create special memories to last a lifetime all whilst learning more about the animals from the Christmas Story.
